Woods woos LaCava to

Tiger Woods has hired Joe LaCava to replace long-time Kiwi caddie Steve Williams whom he had a falling out with earlier this year.
The 14-time major winner Woods took two months to find a replacement after splitting with former bagman Williams in July.
"Joe LaCava is an outstanding caddie and I have known him since I was an amateur, really looking forward to having him on my bag," Woods wrote on his social networking Twitter site Sunday.
LaCava worked 20 years as a caddie for 2011 US Presidents Cup team captain Fred Couples. Most recently he has been carrying the golf bag for rising PGA Tour star Dustin Johnson.
Johnson's swing coach Butch Harmon first told Sky Sports TV about the caddie hiring during the telecast of the Sunday's final round of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Woods, who was the best man at Williams' wedding, sacked his former caddie after 13 years of working together.
Williams has since been hired by Aussie star Adam Scott.
Woods is five short of breaking Jack Nicklaus' all-time record of 18 major championships but he has not won a tournament since November 2009 in Australia. He is coming off a frustrating season and is still trying to bounce back from a shocking sex scandal and a string of injuries.
Woods also used Twitter to be one of the first to congratulate Bill Haas and Hunter Mahan on the richest one-hole showdown in PGA Tour history which was won by Haas in a playoff Sunday.
"Great finish to the season today," Woods wrote of the final round of the Tour Championship which doubled as the finish of the FedEx Cup playoffs. "Fun to watch Bill & Hunter, two good friends and players, go at it."

Woods has battled left knee and tendon injuries suffered at the Masters in April, where his share of fourth place was his best showing in eight previous starts this year.
He hadn't played since missing the cut in the PGA Championship in August.
Woods opened promisingly with a birdie at the first, but that was followed by back-to-back bogeys.
His card also included a double-bogey seven at the 605-yard, par-five 12th.
He added one more birdie, at the par-five 15th, but couldn't build any real momentum.
Woods hit just 7 of 14 fairways but said his biggest problem was with his putter.
"It was probably one of the worst putting rounds I've ever had," Woods said.
Brendan Steele, Briny Baird, Garrett Willis and Matt Bettencourt shared the clubhouse lead on four-under par 67.
Australians Matt Jones and Steven Bowditch carded 68 s, along with American Troy Matteson.

Man says film inspired frankfurter flinging prank

Brandon Kelly of Petaluma, California, told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat on Tuesday that he's the man who threw the hot dog and he's a fan of Woods -- and hopes the 14-time major champion eventually breaks golf great Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 major titles.
However, he said he formed the idea for the dubious gesture after watching the movie "Drive," in which Ryan Gosling stars as a stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver.
"I threw the hot dog toward Tiger Woods because I was inspired by the movie 'Drive,'" Kelly told the newspaper. "As soon as the movie ended, I thought to myself, 'I have to do something courageous and epic. I have to throw a hot dog on the green in front of Tiger.'"
Woods was preparing to putt in the final round of last week's tournament when Kelly shouted his name and tossed the hot dog.
"When I looked up, the hot dog was already in the air," Woods said Sunday. "The bun was kind of disintegrating."
Kelly was quickly arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor that authorities said would likely result in a fine and perhaps community service.

Westwood triumphs in China Golf gclub Challenge

Lee Westwood triumphed in the inaugural Shui On Land China Golf Challenge Sunday by defeating Liang Wenchong in a playoff at Caesars Golf in Macau.
The 38-year-old Englishman holed a 12-foot putt for a birdie three at the eighteenth to beat Liang in the first hole of a sudden death playoff.
Westwood, the world number two, and Liang, China's number one golfer, parred the day's two holes to record an 18-hole total of two under par 71, one shot ahead of Ian Poulter.

Rory McIlroy, the US Open champion and world number three, finished six over in the exhibition event which saw the four players play 18 holes in seven Chinese cities in seven days.

"I think I do well in Asia because I just adapt well," said Westwood who earlier this year won the Indonesia Masters and the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea.
"I adapt to the grasses and I adapt to the culture and the food. Playing world golf is all about adapting.
"I've really enjoyed playing with Liang this week. I know him as I've played with him many times, but this week we've been living in each other's pockets and spending a lot of time together, so you get to learn a bit more. He's got a great sense of humour and likes a practical joke."
Liang, who led the competition after day three before Westwood joined him on the top of the leaderboard on Saturday, said: "It has been a great tournament and I'm happy I was able to get into the playoff with Lee.
"I did my best and although I lost, it was by the smallest margin. I've been able to play with three world-class players and seen how they act, how they talk, how they walk, and this will help elevate me to the next level."
The event started in Shanghai on Monday and took the players to Zhengzhou, Beijing, Dalian, Chongqing and Dongguan, before finishing in Macau.
